The Staff-Parish Relations Committee of Brookhaven United Methodist Church is happy to announce the recent addition of Todd Salmi to the church staff as Director of Family Ministries. Todd will be working with our Children's Council, outreach to parents and giving support to youth ministries. He will also be one of our Contextual Education students from Candler in the fall.
Todd is a rising second year Master of Divinity student in the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He is on the ordination track as an Elder in the United Methodist Church. He is a native Texan, graduate of the University of Texas with both business and Spanish degrees, and co-founded a successful software company focused on hiring safe employees.
His home church is Hyde Park UMC in Austin Texas, where he has been a member for over 10 years. At Hyde Park he was a member of Admin Council and focused on evangelism and adult bible study. He recently moved to Atlanta from Mexico after living there for two years with his family. In Mexico, he led the children’s Christian education program at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Cuernavaca.
He is the proud father of two sons and one daughter, and a lucky husband. His wife Mari recently started work at Morehouse School of Medicine as the Graduate Teaching Lab Coordinator for the Masters and PhD students. His oldest son Martin is going into second grade at Fernbank Elementary. His two year old Wesley goes to an Emory Early Childhood Center, and his 9 month old daughter Marielle keeps her father busy this summer as she hangs out with him at home and out and about.
